Game Night

Rules, dares, and bragging rights — all in one place.

Texas Hold 'em

Texas Hold 'em. Dare economy. No cash. All courage.

The Concept

A Texas Hold 'em poker game where players buy in with dares instead of cash. Dares are performed live at cash-out. The tension comes from whether you finish with enough chips to buy back your dares — or someone else gets to assign them.

Buy-In Options

OptionDaresChips
Standard Buy-In 1 dare 5,000
Add-On (initial buy only) 2 dares 8,000
Re-Buy (stack < 1K only) +1 dare +5,000
Add-on is only available at the initial buy-in, not later.
Re-buy stacks on top of existing dare obligations — it's a lifeline, not a power move. You can only re-buy when your chip count drops below 1,000.

Cash-Out Rules

  • For every dare you committed to, you must spend chips equal to that dare's chip value to retire it.
  • Buyback cost always equals the exact chip value the dare earned at buy-in.
  • Any dare you can't cover is "exposed."
  • Any other player with enough chips can purchase an exposed dare to the highest bidder (75% of face value is minimum bid) — the buyer then chooses where to post it (social media platform of their choice), and the loser performs it live, right then.
Winning chips isn't just about bragging rights — it's the only way to buy back your dares and keep your dignity intact.

Index Card System

At buy-in, the host writes each player's dare and chip value on a physical index card in the color matching the dare tier. Cards sit face-up in front of each player all night. Retired dares get handed back. Exposed dares stay on the table.

How the Game Flows

  1. Buy in. Each player picks dare(s) from the menu and buys in. Host writes each dare on the matching color index card. Nothing is performed yet.
  2. Play poker. Play Texas Hold 'em all night. Dare cards sit face-up in front of each player — a constant reminder of what's at stake.
  3. Cash out. At the end of the night, each player spends chips to retire their dares. Retired cards go back to the player.
  4. Exposed dares. Any dare you can't cover stays on the table. Other players with enough chips can purchase exposed dares at auction — the buyer picks the social platform.
  5. Perform. All remaining dares are performed live, right at the table. No delays, no rain checks.
💡
Pro tip: The add-on gives more chips per dare, but also doubles your exposure. Standard buy-in is the safe play. Re-buy is a desperation move — use it when you're about to lose everything.
